Cut Copy - "Lights and Music"

Brit-Pop Dance Party

I went to a Brit-Pop dance party on Friday night and it was AWESOME. Here were some of the highlights. Primal Scream - "Moving On Up" The Stone Roses - "Fools Gold" Happy Mondays - "Hallelujah" New Order - "Temptation" Blur - "Boys and Girls" Pulp - "Common People" The Farm - "Groovy Train" The Lightning Seeds - "Pure" Charlatans - "The Only One I Know" Joy Division - "Love Will Tear Us Apart" Suede - "The Drowners" Supergrass - "Caught By the Fuzz"

Heavenly — P.U.N.K. Girl

Such a great intro, fantastic twee pop. The video isn't by the band (and truthfully, it creeps me out) but the song is such a bouncy blast of fun.

Flight of the Conchords - Sugar Lumps (NSFW)

I have a confession: I've never seen an episode of FOTC, because I don't have HBO. But I always check out their songs on YouTube, and I have the season one soundtrack. I think they are hilarious!

The Get Up Kids — I'm a Loner, Dottie, A Rebel

This is such a guilty pleasure for me. Grown-up Bella knows that it is a corny pop song, but the adolescent Bella dances every time. Also, I am a loner, and something of a rebel.

The Clash — Train in Vain

Sigh. Joe Strummer was so sexy.

Janelle Monae — Many Moons

Yeah! She's got style and pipes.

Cap'n Jazz — Take On Me

So bad it's good.

Sunny Day Real Estate — Seven

My 90s nostalgiafest continues. I used to have a roommate named Karinsa, and she confessed that for years, she thought they were singing "You taste it! You taste it, Karinsa!"

Black Kids - "Look At Me (When I Rock Wichoo)"

I think I've listened to this song 5 or 6 times today.
